Learning that tai long has a nephew I'm hoping that there will be more Kung Fu panda and I'm hoping that the old villains will return. I would love that cause I see the good in everyone so I hope that tai long, lord shen and kai return in the future and join the side and good. Also I want more po and his friends.
What's on your mind?
I'd like to take a moment to inform about when it's okay and not okay to report content (that is: posts, threads, comments, messages).
This hasn't been much of a problem lately, but every now and then I find a report on something that doesn't seem to be justifiably reportable. I figure while things are quiet and doing okay content-wise, I should post about this to make sure more problems don't happen or are at least decreased.
I will likely add this information to the wiki's Discussion Policy at some point in the future, but for now it's just a quick summary.
WHAT TO REPORT
Content that directly breaks forum guidelines
Content that directly breaks wiki policies
Content that you believe may need review of an administrator/moderator (This is for instances when you're not sure, though this should NOT be used excessively or as an excuse to report something you shouldn't be reporting.)
WHAT NOT TO REPORT
Content that you do not like
Content that you disagree with (This and the previous one is what I see a lot and is one of the main reasons of this PSA.)
Content that does not qualify under any of the terms listed above in "What to Report"
REVIEWING REPORTED CONTENT
When content is reported, it's added to the "Reported Posts" list that is only visible to admins/mods. That list indicates which posts have been reported, how many total posts have been reported, and who (by username) made the report(s).
When I review reported content, I check to see if it qualifies under one of the above terms, and then based on that either keep or remove the content. I'd say right now it's about 60% that I actually remove, and the other 40% is content that shouldn't have been reported in the first place.
OTHER IMPORTANT NOTES
Simply reporting a post DOES NOT guarantee its removal. The content must be reviewed by an admin/mod first before something can happen to it. Reporting it does not insta-delete it or temporarily hide it, as I think some people probably got the impression of in the past.
Unless it's a common occurrence, I do not hold false reports responsible to the user who reported the content. In the end, I do want people to try and make sure content on this wiki is friendly and appropriate to all users/readers. It's just a small number of people that seem to be doing it for themselves and not for the community though, and that is what I'm trying to address with this PSA.
For FANDOM's general info on reporting content, see the Community Help page below:
If anyone has any questions, comments or concerns about this topic, please post them in this thread. Thanks.
If there was a Kung Fu Panda Game that acts like a Arena Fighter, then what character do you want to see?
Some of you may already know about it, especially if you've seen this previsualisation before:
As seen in the video, in the earlier draft of the screenplay, Po's adoptive father was supposed to get hit by Master Porcupine's spine (which apparently was poisonous).
I wonder if that could have been the reason for Po to go to the Panda Village in the first place (instead of the reason we eventually got) - like, Li suggested to take him there because pandas know better healing techniques or something (Li was to be a healer). Because if not, it's pretty weird they would decide to drag poor Mr. Ping all the way to those faraway mountains instead of leaving him with doctors from the Valley of Peace (a long and tough journey like that could have worsened goose's condition, maybe even getting him killed)...
But wow, Mr. Ping getting hurt would have change film's mood drastically. Po's stay at the village wouldn't be all about having fun, rolling down the hill and getting to know who he is. He's dad would be seriously injured and fighting for his life in a place called "apothecary". Especially when he says "I didn't mean to survive"... Man...
But it's interesting how Mr. Ping's and Li Shan's relationship would develop since Li is the person saving goose's life.
By the way, I find it amusing how the visual development artists have to design literally everything, including a rice sack or a root.

I can only find fake info on it so, fandom educate me.
Apparently at some point of the creating process there was an idea of Po rescuing (or at least trying to) Lord Shen after his ship blown up.
Not gonna lie, I'm glad they abandoned this concept. I uderstand they wanted to show Po as forgiving and not vengeful. But even if we assume Po truly did forgive, it doesn't change the fact Shen just tried conquering all of China using his deadly weapon.
Would you risk your life to save someone who not only killed your parents and made you (as Po thought at that time) the last panda in the world, tried killing you four times, tried killing your friends, killed one of the legendary masters, almost killed innocent citizens of Gongmen (when he blown up the bridge) and tried conquering whole country? Uhh, I don't think so.
Especially since there was like no chance of Shen changing, he was just evil (which we eventually witnessed when he tried killing Po for the fifth time despite the fact all his plan failed) and the only thing Po could do after rescuing him would be throwing him into jail. But again, would you risk your life with drowning (or with this someone hurting you) only to imprison someone who (let's be honest) deserves death?

We already had:
- "believe in yourself, everyone can be a hero" which is a very standard one but it was done extremely well.
- "you're the one who's writing your own story, don't let your past determine who you are" which is definietely my favourite, one of the reasons is because it isn't overused by other animated films.
- and "be yourself" which is the most clichéd one when it comes to kids movies recently but surprisingly it wasn't done as badly.
What would you want to see next?
And maybe there is something you don't want to see?
One thing always drives me nuts whenever I watch "Secrets of the scroll" :
How is that possible Po doesn't know what kung fu is? He lives just underneath the Palace where two legendary masters live, one of them is the creator of kung fu himself. Valley of Peace is kind of known only because there is Jade Palace in it. It's like you would live in Los Angeles (next to the Hollywood sign) not knowing what Hollywood is.
Besides, the masters protect the village and its inhabitants, not hearing about them is like... impossible.
Po acts like the Palace was built last week. During his all life (how old is he at that time? 16?) he haven't heard a word about it? He even has got difficulties with saying "Jade Palace" without stumbling.
Tigress as a main character well welcomed but can be about everything else as well. Not TiPo though.
Its location was a secret. A secret secret, so secret that Li Shan didn't want to share it even with Po's adoptive father at first. He surely didn't tell Shifu nor Tigress and rest of the Five where it is located. Yet, Tigress somehow managed to find it in no time.
Apparently having a goose as a father doesn't stop Po from eating birds.
I just rewatched secrets of the masters and I have a cognitive dissonance.
As you can probably remember Po, Tigress and Mantis broke into the Masters' Council exhibit. And one thing intrigues me. Where is this exhibition? Becasue the design of the place is extremely resembling to the Jade Palace's, especially with the columns with dragon carvings. That is what I used to think as a kid when I would watch this film - it is simply in the Palace. This is what the wiki says as well
However, as you might remember, the opening sequence of the film is Po, Tigress and Mantis doing some parkour in the village. In the village. Last time I checked, the Palace was located on a mountain, not in the centre of the village.
This is how the roof of the building they broke into looks like
Doesn't look like a Jade Palace's roof at all.
Besides, if the exhibition is situated in the Palace, the Five would definietely know about it, wouldn't they? But both Tigress and Mantis act like they had no idea about any exhibit.
Lord Sheesh, a cheap knockoff of Lord Shen
It took me the weekend and a little bit of polishing, but I think I've just about finished the preparations for FANDOM's new skin for desktop users, called FandomDesktop. For more information, read the official blog:
To see the new skin on the wiki (if you haven't already done it), click on your user account portrait > My Preferences > Appearance > Skin: FandomDesktop.
There are two modes with the new skin: light and dark.
Light mode has been set as the site's default, and it looks nearly exactly like stylings on the regular Oasis skin.
Dark mode has been stylized after the main villain of the active light mode theme using a different background image and matching dark colors.
You can select a mode in your preferences, or you can also quickly switch between them by clicking on the sun/moon icon in the top right toolbar (visible only on the main wiki, not in the forums).
Both modes will be on a 4-month rotation themed around one of the three films:
KFP3 - January to April
KFP2 - May to August
KFP1 - September to December
I've pretty much swept through the whole wiki and made sure everything looks good with both modes, though it wouldn't surprise me if I missed something. If anyone sees anything weird on the mode/theme/skin, let me know and I'll have a look. (Note: Unfortunately some things may look weird on the old Oasis skin due to the changes. I can't change these, as they would also change how it looks on the new skin.)
Feel free to use this thread to discuss the new skin. If anyone has any particular questions or concerns, let me know. Thanks!
EDIT (June 27, 2021): Revised the light/dark mode and theme info.
EDIT (July 5, 2021): Revised mode info.
Hello folks. I am a fellow guy who enjoys this franchise. I want to ask friendly questions. What do you guys love the most about the kung fu panda franchise what appeals to you the most who are your favorite characters what lessons do you learn from it and what’s your favorite film
As far as I know, there are no clues what Dragon Knight will be. But the title itself really stimulates my imagination. I'm very curious what do you think it can possibly be about? Or in other words, what do you want it to be about?
I got back into the fandom after loving the movies as a kid, I watched the first movie when I was 7 in 2008, the second far after the release at 13 I believe , the third I think I watched it on the European release, so I was 15. Now 5 years later, Im 20, wanted to watch it again, loved it, and since I got to drawing in the meantimes (well to be fair I never was great and had a hiatus of a year before this drawing) I decided to draw Tigress with a template, the template being Tigress training with Shi-Fu in the Secret of the Scroll so I don't claim any originality in this drawing, it was just for the giggles and to train my hands back into drawing mode. So yeah, it's not that good, but sill felt it was worth sharing. Im back in the fandom, and Im still impressed some people are still active over here, have a good one y'all
(yeah don't mind the eyes, I broke my compass...)
