Despite it currently missing Shifu and the Furious Five, POD is still overall a large improvement from LOA.
A reminder that per the wiki's discussion policies, everyone is entitled to their opinion as long as they respectfully express it. I see that's been done here, so please do not call people names, tell people to "get out", or report posts that you disagree with - that function is for inappropriate posts that directly break policies.
Another reminder that there is a thread specifically for talking about ships. If this thread is going to turn into a shipping thread (as I see it's already turning out to be), then I'll just close it. So please discuss your desired shippings here and only here:
^ Again, connecting broad behaviors/traits to a disorder is too presumptuous. Tigress likes kung fu because she's been doing it all her life and it's STILL how she completely lives her life (being part of the Furious Five, a student of the Jade Palace, etc). That would be like saying someone who loves their line of work and is really passionate about it and talks about it all the time has autism. That's obviously inaccurate.
Not sure where "self-regulation" came from - she's actually quite a disciplined and composed individual. The "anger issues" thing (if that's what we're generally calling it now) is, I think, just a personality trait - not everyone feels the same emotions in the same amount for everything.
You sound upset, lol. I was just stating fact is all. I'm pretty used to the wiki being quiet at this point - it's honestly been going on since KFP3 hype ended. Things didn't really pick up much with the series, unfortunately. Anyway, I'm sorry you're disappointed.
I agree. But it is what it is - can't really force interest on people.
It's already been quiet. Happens when nothing's going on in the franchise.
Also I noticed from my admin stats that plenty of people still look at the wiki, but not too many actually do anything on it. Can't help that.
^ That, and the actual article says Black is THINKING of retiring early, and honestly he sounds unsure to me. He also said that if he did retire that if "something comes up", meaning I'd assume something he'd be really interested in doing, then he'd probably jump into it. I'd bet money that if there's going to be another Kung Fu Panda movie that he'd for sure like to voice Po.
So put away your "KFP is over" survival kits, lol.
If the show continues, then I think they will at some point. The Five and Shifu are too essential to the KFP franchise to just completely leave out of a KFP series.
Autism has a very wide range of symptoms/disorders, as well as levels of severity for each person who has it. Because of this, it's hard to assert that someone with "anger issues" or a self-loathing perspective is that way because of the way they were born. In other words, it doesn't necessarily mean they have a form of disorder associated with it.
So no, I don't think Tigress has autism. I think that's just her personality.
^ It was shown in that episode why.
What did the villains look like? Wolves? Cats? Crocs? Buffalo? That might help narrow it down.
I'm not sure what there is to discuss about this, honestly. Considering how central and diverse the dragons are in HTTYD compared to there being canonically only one type of dragon in KFP, how is there any significance to someone's choice? Just sounds to me like it'll turn into a "what type of dragon would you be" discussion that I'd find on the HTTYD wiki.
I'd suggest maybe changing the topic to something like "what would your appearance/abilities be as a Chinese dragon?" That, I feel, would be more suited to the KFP universe instead of leaning heavily towards the HTTYD one.
^ @hulk Oh okay. Yeah I think Tai Lung heavily underestimated Po and was also really frustrated over the Dragon Warrior thing, so he overexerted himself to try and get rid of him quickly, which obviously didn't work and he consequently tired himself out.
I'm sure if Tai Lung was more calculative and conservative of his energy during the fight, it probably would've lasted a lot longer and perhaps resulted a little more in his favor.
Both I guess? I don't really understand the question. Are you trying to ask why he was defeated so easily, or why he was panting so much before having the Wuxi hold used on him, or something else?
^ That statement was made about 10 years ago by the then-CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg, and the statement was more along the lines of "we have enough material in this story arc for 6 total films." It doesn't necessarily confirm a slated 6 films, especially with how many changes DreamWorks has gone through since then.
Also, apparently Jack Black has said recently that he's doing only a handful of things before he retires, one of which he specifically stated was 1 more KFP film. Not to imply that he calls the shots necessarily, but I think that statement could mean something for current execs at DreamWorks or NBCUniversal. Who knows.
Anyway, nothing is slated, that's the point I'm trying to make. KFP4 isn't official until DreamWorks has made an official press release about it, which hasn't happened yet.
There aren't. And it'll be pretty obvious to see on this wiki if there is. Check the KFP News forum category for franchise updates.
Also, if you see any news articles on Google saying "KFP4 Confirmed?" or "KFP4 Release Date" or whatever else, and it's dated to before this year, it's speculative clickbait. Nothing has been officially announced by DreamWorks yet.
^ Silk robes, I'd imagine? I dunno.
"The best" meaning what? The one we like the most? The one we think would win the most battles? The one with a more developed character arc? Something else?... If it's which one we like the most, I'd suggest having the question say "favorite" in it. Otherwise, I'd like clarification on "best".
It's also interesting that you didn't have an "opt-out" option like "All of them" or "I can't decide", because honestly I'm kind of leaning that direction, lol.
So you're implying that the one you LIKE the most (if that's what you were referring to with your previous poll) may not necessarily be the one that you're most SIMILAR to? Interesting. I'd personally argue that we tend to most like those that remind us of ourselves - that is, our own personal image of ourselves, which may or may not necessarily reflect what another person may think of us.
But then what would define who we "actually" or "truly" are? Our own perspective, or the perspective of a third party? Food for thought, hehe.
So I suppose this'll be a fun little psychology experiment to observe. :)
There isn't any news yet on whether or not there will be another season for the show.
As to why new episodes are all released at once, it's because of the binge-watching culture that's replaced the "weekly buzz" culture that traditional television brought and sustained for decades. Viewer habits have changed a lot since then. Everyone has DVRs now, which means everyone just records what they want to watch. And when they decide to watch their recordings, they'll typically want to watch it all at once, which happens because of other reasons depending on the person - busy life schedules, interest changes, lots of other shows to watch, etc.
Streaming services like Amazon Prime and Netflix know about this cultural shift, so they release their stuff all at once.
