Weeeeeell, there IS the matter that he basicly flipped out on everyone and basicly harmed the villagers who I'm sure had nothing to do with his woes! I mean, I get that he felt betrayed, but that's ONE hell of an over-reaction, don't ya think?
To Le 0 Brien: Thanks, rarely do I get agreed with here since I feel like am a minority when it comes to LOA.
"Now most of us agree that Legends of Awesomeness is most certainly not canon."
Well guess I'm in the minority here cause I believe otherwise.
But seriously, my personal love for LOA aside, I think the TV shows are considered by dreamworks to be sublimentry canons. A sublimentry is something that is opitional canon, and since Kung Fu Panda is primary a movie franchise, it's an assured bet that the shows are not nessersarly heavy canon and most likely only exist to keep the franchise relivent in some way.
All in all, I like to consider both shows canon to the movie continuity, they give insight of Po's life inbetween times of post first movie and pre-second movie, then post-second movie to pre-3rd movie, with Paws of Desteny clearly being Post-3rd movie.
Well, that's something to think about.
Well based on what I saw in the ending, at most it likely involves that red golum she awakened.
Everything else like whether or not the other KFP cast would be involved is just spectulation.
Though Tai Lung is only bad out of being rejected, I don't think what Tai Lung had went through is something very easy to redeem from. For one thing, he greatly harmed Shifu and the Five, and in the flashback, he has clearly harmed (Potaintionally even killed" the villagers and clearly had no quilms breaking Shifu's leg to get at the scroll.
If so, can we get more backstory on the Furious Five, and Po's childhood?
The shorts and some episodes of LOA already covered the Five greatly at this point.
Well, it is ultamately what Dreamworks has to decide should we actselly GET a 4th. For now, it doesn't look as if they'll be another KFP film in sight.
But if I were to guess, given what went down in the 3rd movie, the next adventure would involve the spirits of the villains, plus tecnecal new ones of the past, returning to china to cause trouble, all under the leadership of a vengeful dragon, (I know LOA covered a dragon villain in a two-parter episode, but think about what an even intenser movie verson would be like), and Po and all of the Masters of present and past have to work togather to send the spirits back to the realm. Everything else is everyone's guess.
Unrelated note: To all of the people who wrote down so many ideas: Yikes!
And some were more wilder (and most unlikely to happen due to risk of WTFery) then the last, but others look plausable enough.
^ Well that's what I am trying to say. Now, I do agree with the fozzel findings, but apart from that, A T-Rex appearing in Anichent China, even with what you said in mind and what you brought up, it's still abit much. Even LOA avoided going too far with streahed dispense of disabelief.
^ A T-Rex villain is abit too much for a streach for a show based on ANICHENT CHINA?!
Alas, as expected, this does sound like a series doing it's own thing, mainly following a what happened after the 3rd movie.
Still hope for LOA villain returns though, but so far it does feel like the show aims to be it's own beast.
^ Keep in mind that I am only asking for the return of LOA's villains, espeically ones that barely were given a chance to shine, like Fu-Xi, Pang Bing, and Ke-Pa. I am not asking for the show's flaws to return as well. I am just saying that a new show would mean new oppertunites for under-utilised villains, espeically with LOA's premature fate as only having three seasons.
Well, I like to consider LOA canon. For it's place, well, I like to imagine that they're events that take place inbetween the movies and that they offer more lore then what the shorts could barely deliver.
Now, are there contridictions? Can't deny it. But I am someone that knows how to make it work.
For exsample, for the Furious Five's origins, the ones we see in the movies could simply be a new generation in a long time as last-gen Furious five with Shifu in it just disbanned for years.
In a way, LOA is canon if you can figure out it's place in the francise puzzle. Now, granted, things like Oogway having been able to appear as a spirit in LOA yet in the 3rd film he said he never tried it once, are tough work arounds, but I would like to justify that as Oogway desiding to be cryptic and kinda fibbed about that to avoid giving Po an anti-climatic answer.
From the title, it does sound like it leans more torwords it's own thing. But I'm still hoping for LOA villain returns, cause like last comment, some of them still have some potaintional.
^ Fair points, though I never figured Brown Bears are in asia. They seem like a north amarican/europian animal in my perspective, but you learn something new every day.
Still, I have my own prospects and you clearly have yours. Let's agree to disagree.
^ Now, I respect that I may not be able to speak for everyone, but I personally believe that LOA has more potaintional then some would've believed had it been exicuted just right.
Again, the Series may deside to do it's own thing, but I'm just personally saying that I would've liked it if they went that way, it would've made the KFP media more interwined and connected, and there's nothing greater then a series that's connected to all of it's lore in a harmonious continuity chain.
Also, while LOA isn't exactly accreate to chinese lore, KFP as a whole isn't exactly accreate to Chinese Fauna as a whole, given that the first movie gave us a Galopigose Torttose, the 3rd a dang grizzly bear, and alot of KFP media seem to show Gorillas for some reason. So your desire to complain about LOA's accreatey seems, ironic.
Well, I hope this show will be an oppertunity to bring back some of LOA's villain roster. My hoped top three is
1: Fu Xi: Because he was awesome and it sucks that due to LOA being done, that he's kinda a one timer. Fu Xi has the greatest potaintional for world building for snakes and their place in china and perhaps more onto their relation to dragons.
2: Pang Bing: The Cat souceress has an interesting backstory that LOA only touched on abit and should be given a chance to be explored more.
3: Ke-Pa: Because come on, can we really assume that Ke Pa really died out? There's still so much we BARELY know about Ke-Pa.
Now, I wouldn't mind if others like Junjie and Taotie are given returns as well, because they were the most commen in LOA and ergo wouldn't be surprising if they showed up once more, heck, maybe they won't use the LOA characters and focus more onto an entirely new baddy since we're talking about a more focused series.
