Hello, I need to get in touch with the editors/moderators of the Wiki concerning blatant plagiarism of articles/pages posted here. There is a YouTuber who has amassased over 400,000 subscribers. I've alread worked with other Wikis and Publications to have dozens of videos removed from YouTube after take down requests (again, from other wikis and publications like IGN, ScreenRant, Looper, etc.) Recently, he's been copying this wiki word-for-word and gaining 100s of 1000s of views and 1000s of dollars of the work of others here. Since the writers and editors of this wiki hold the copyright to the written work, you can actually submit a takedown notice through YouTube. See: https://community.fandom.com/wiki/Copyright - If the editors and moderators are interested in having their work protected from plagiarists, please get in contact! Thank you!
What's on your mind?

So I've noticed that a handful of transcripts for episdoes of the Kung Fu Panda TV shows are incomplete or not there.
So if anyone has the patience to fill them out, that would be great.

Rather than having this thread simply be some passive request/complaint, I've labeled it as a wiki project so it's more constructive, proactive, and stands out more as a contribution opportunity for editors.
Anyone interested can use this thread to coordinate by posting ideas, volunteering, or even listing qualified articles & highlighting some of the ones to perhaps focus on. --Spottedstar
Just Updated
In the past I've made batches of specific KFP-film-themed avatars around an anniversary, but this time I'm instead striking while the iron is hot.
I've started on a new batch of KFP avatars featuring characters from Kung Fu Panda 4. There are only 4 new avatars currently, as I only have that many unique, KFP4-specific, high-quality character transparencies. As I locate more transparencies, I'll make more and post updates in this thread. Feel free to use what I have on your wiki and social media profiles.
All wiki avatars are located here:
https://kungfupanda.fandom.com/wiki/User:Spottedstar/Avatars
Hi everyone. I'm still seeing some folks posting videos, pictures, and links to the leaked unfinished KFP4 trailer. This is a reminder that doing such is **prohibited on this wiki.** The content is copyrighted and was not officially released by DreamWorks/NBCUniversal, therefore it is being classified as a form of piracy. Per the wiki's Discussion policy on piracy:
All forms of piracy is prohibited. Do not link to, upload, or discuss in any form (asking, naming, etc.) illegal filesharing of media. This includes but is not limited to: videos on YouTube or a similar video-hosting website with a large (if not full) amount of copyrighted content, torrent files/sites/programs, proxies, unofficial streams/downloads, etc. Piracy posts will be swiftly removed and its poster likewise may face swift consequences.
Additionally, I've noticed every time the trailer is uploaded to YouTube, Universal puts in a copyright claim and it gets removed fairly quickly. So again, the trailer has been illegally leaked and therefore this wiki is not hosting any of its contents.
Users who continue posting the leaked content (by way of image or video uploads, or also linking to or naming other places that have it) will have a temporary block placed on their account which will prevent them from uploading files & posting in the forums. The block time will vary depending on the circumstance; repeat offenses or more extensive posting will definitely increase it.
EXCEPTION: This isn't including existing discussion threads talking about what was shown in the trailer. As long as it is properly marked for spoilers and does not contain any leaked content (images, videos, links, site names), you may still continue to discuss the trailer itself.
Leave a message in this thread if there are any questions, thanks.
I've made a recent modification to one of the rules listed in the forum's Guidelines, specifically this one:
"Do not post topics of great similarity to another thread."
This new line of text has been added underneath it:
"EXCEPTION: If the prior thread is more than a year old & not being actively used, then a duplicate may be posted. The prior thread will be linked to & closed as a result."
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
This rule change has already been in practice for some time, but now I finally have it officially documented. :P From now on though, if anyone wasn't aware before, duplicate topic threads are permitted so long as both of these conditions are met:
The prior thread is more than 1 year old in creation.
The prior thread is not actively in-use. (This could be subjective in a lot of cases, but generally "inactivity" of a thread means there hasn't been more than 1 user posting in it for at least a month or so. Feel free to ask if you're not sure.)
Once both of these are met, the new thread may be created. The prior thread should be linked to (just as a courtesy and also for easy navigational & documentation purposes), and then I shall close it.
WHAT'S CONSIDERED TO BE "DUPLICATE"?
"Duplicate topic threads" encompass any thread on the same topic that essentially instigates the exact same discussion. This would include threads that are straight-up duplicates (usually polls from >1 year ago), as well as those that have been reworded and have different functions.
For example, if there were 2 threads on the same topic of discussing your favorite KFP film:
Poll thread: "Which KFP film do you like best?"
Text thread: "What is your favorite KFP film and why"
Although these have different functions - one you just simply vote, and another you express your choice and other thoughts - they will still essentially have the same exact discussion in the thread's comments. These would not be permitted to exist at the same time unless the two new guideline conditions are met.
Otherwise, if there was a poll on which member of the Furious Five is your favorite that was created more than a year ago, and there hasn't been more than one person posting in the thread recently, then you may go ahead and recreate it.
WHY THE CHANGE?
In all honesty this guideline should've been here since the start of these new "Discussions" forums, but after seeing exactly how they work over the past couple of years, I now realize there's really no permanence to any existing thread. Hence, no thread should claim rights to a specific topic forever. I also admit it can be hard and time-consuming to sift through all the forum's existing threads to see what has already been posted, so hopefully this helps to alleviate that.

Please leave any questions, comments, concerns or suggestions in this thread, thanks!
I'd like to take a moment to inform about when it's okay and not okay to report content (that is: posts, threads, comments, messages).
This hasn't been much of a problem lately, but every now and then I find a report on something that doesn't seem to be justifiably reportable. I figure while things are quiet and doing okay content-wise, I should post about this to make sure more problems don't happen or are at least decreased.
I will likely add this information to the wiki's Discussion Policy at some point in the future, but for now it's just a quick summary.
WHAT TO REPORT
Content that directly breaks forum guidelines
Content that directly breaks wiki policies
Content that you believe may need review of an administrator/moderator (This is for instances when you're not sure, though this should NOT be used excessively or as an excuse to report something you shouldn't be reporting.)
WHAT NOT TO REPORT
Content that you do not like
Content that you disagree with (This and the previous one is what I see a lot and is one of the main reasons of this PSA.)
Content that does not qualify under any of the terms listed above in "What to Report"
REVIEWING REPORTED CONTENT
When content is reported, it's added to the "Reported Posts" list that is only visible to admins/mods. That list indicates which posts have been reported, how many total posts have been reported, and who (by username) made the report(s).
When I review reported content, I check to see if it qualifies under one of the above terms, and then based on that either keep or remove the content. I'd say right now it's about 60% that I actually remove, and the other 40% is content that shouldn't have been reported in the first place.
OTHER IMPORTANT NOTES
Simply reporting a post DOES NOT guarantee its removal. The content must be reviewed by an admin/mod first before something can happen to it. Reporting it does not insta-delete it or temporarily hide it, as I think some people probably got the impression of in the past.
Unless it's a common occurrence, I do not hold false reports responsible to the user who reported the content. In the end, I do want people to try and make sure content on this wiki is friendly and appropriate to all users/readers. It's just a small number of people that seem to be doing it for themselves and not for the community though, and that is what I'm trying to address with this PSA.

It took me the weekend and a little bit of polishing, but I think I've just about finished the preparations for FANDOM's new skin for desktop users, called FandomDesktop. For more information, read the official blog:
To see the new skin on the wiki (if you haven't already done it), click on your user account portrait > My Preferences > Appearance > Skin: FandomDesktop.
There are two modes with the new skin: light and dark.
Light mode has been set as the site's default, and it looks nearly exactly like stylings on the regular Oasis skin.
Dark mode has been stylized after the main villain of the active light mode theme using a different background image and matching dark colors.
You can select a mode in your preferences, or you can also quickly switch between them by clicking on the sun/moon icon in the top right toolbar (visible only on the main wiki, not in the forums).
Both modes will be on a 4-month rotation themed around one of the three films:
KFP3 - January to April
KFP2 - May to August
KFP1 - September to December
I've pretty much swept through the whole wiki and made sure everything looks good with both modes, though it wouldn't surprise me if I missed something. If anyone sees anything weird on the mode/theme/skin, let me know and I'll have a look. (Note: Unfortunately some things may look weird on the old Oasis skin due to the changes. I can't change these, as they would also change how it looks on the new skin.)
Feel free to use this thread to discuss the new skin. If anyone has any particular questions or concerns, let me know. Thanks!

EDIT (June 27, 2021): Revised the light/dark mode and theme info.
EDIT (July 5, 2021): Revised mode info.
This month marks the 10th anniversary of the release of Kung Fu Panda 2. I've updated the site's theme to reflect this, and I've also made the final (I think) batch of KFP avatars featuring the main and supporting characters of KFP2. Feel free to use them on your wiki and social media profiles in celebration.

Hello everyone! My name is ReverieCode and I’m a Wiki Representative from Fandom.
I wanted to draw your attention to a 2 week quality of life bug fixing project we’re undertaking at Fandom as we work through a ton of great feedback we got about the new unified experience we unveiled at Community Connect last weekend. This work will focus on bugs which haven’t risen to critical fix levels while the engineering teams have been heads down on the unified experience work, like features not quite working the way they’re intended or the way they used to on the legacy platform.
You can read more about it in this blog, but what I’m specifically reaching out about is seeing if you have any particular bugs on the wiki that are really annoying, but not site breaking and may have not been reported yet. We have an opportunity to get bugs like that triaged and incorporated into this project, so if that’s the case, please send me everything you can about the bug(s), including steps to reproduce them and any other relevant information.
This is your opportunity to get a quick fix to everyday annoyances while the teams are in full bug squashing mode, so let me know quickly! You can reply to this message, or let me know directly :)
INSTRUCTIONS
To add your name to the wiki's birthday calendar, simply leave a comment in this thread with your birth month and day. Please use Gregorian month-day format, as such: January 1
QUALIFICATIONS
You must have made at least 1 quality mainspace edit to this wiki at any time with your account.
Users whose accounts have been permanently banned or disabled, either on this wiki alone or globally, will not be added to or kept on the calendar.
OTHER NOTES
Only month and day is logged on the calendar. DO NOT apply with your birth year. It will not affect how your name is shown.
You may only apply for yourself. You cannot add another user's birthday on their behalf.

Happy New Year, everyone! It's January 2021, which marks the 5th anniversary of Kung Fu Panda 3. You've probably noticed I've updated the site's theme to reflect this. I've also made a new batch of KFP avatars featuring (most of) the main and supporting characters of KFP3. Feel free to use them on your wiki and social media profiles in celebration.
Here's to a new year and a hopeful future of more Kung Fu Panda!

Pardon the dust for the past few days! I cleaned through the wiki's customizations, and think I finally got everything looking back to (mostly) normal again.
So here's the thread where you can share your thoughts on the new UCP layout Fandom has implemented to this wiki recently. Eventually ALL wikis on Fandom will use this layout, so it wasn't anything that I personally decided in or agreed to. I knew it was eventually coming, though. It's definitely not perfect, but hopefully with this thread we can give some useful feedback.
Feel free to leave whatever thoughts you have on the new layout: questions, general comments, complaints, critiques, bug reports, suggestions, etc.
For more information on what UCP is and the layout implementation process, read these blog posts by Fandom:

Recently (as well as in the past, back when there were older wiki forums), I've seen other forums with threads titled "Who would win?", and they're basically poll posts containing two options for people to choose which they think would win in a fight or duel. I think these would be quite fun and interesting to have here, especially considering the KFP franchise is centered around fighters.
So starting today, "Who would win?" threads are now permitted in the wiki's forums!
However, they can also very quickly and easily get out of hand, which is why I've avoided them in the past. The biggest concern I have is their strong potential to flood the forums to the point that other threads would be drowned. To help prevent this, as well as maximize discussion content, I've made a list of new regulations as follows:
Only ONE thread will be permitted per user per day. This means each individual user may post only one "Who would win?" thread within about a 24-hour timeframe, after which you'll then be permitted to post another. This will be one of the main rules in helping to prevent thread-flooding.
For now, only list TWO options. Most fights/duels are 1v1 in some form; be it characters, character combos, or established groups. Allowing more would not only be counterproductive in containing flood potential, but also draw too much attention away from similar 1v1 posts. E.g. a "Tigress vs. Po" thread would have to compete directly with similar threads like "Tigress vs. Po vs. whoever else". So for now, two will be the limit. Once we've gone through the majority of popular 1v1 combos, then I'll see to relaxing that limit.
Both options in your post must be REASONABLE. Reasonable means that you can't have insurmountable odds for any one option, be it by numbers or power level. Please only list reasonably balanced options.
When listing character combo options, they must be CANONICAL. Canonical means that character would logically pair up with another character in the KFP universe. E.g. Tigress would never pair up with Lord Shen, but she would pair up with a fellow kung fu master.
No duplicates and no non-KFP characters. As with all threads in the wiki forums, please keep all content unique and related to KFP.
Categorize the thread under the "Fun & Games" tag. This will help to not only revive the currently dead tag, but also filter out "Who would win?" threads for those who want to view other forum content. This is another main rule in helping with thread-flooding.
The thread title must contain the phrase "Who would win?" You can use any other combination of words in the title as you wish, just as long as "who would win" is somewhere in it.
That should be enough to help with flood and content concerns while also still keeping it fun to read and participate in. So feel free to have at it!

For any questions, comments, concerns or suggestions, post them either below or on my Message Wall. Thanks!
I've recently modified one of the rules listed in the forum's Guidelines (linked in the left sidebar of the forum's main page), specifically the one that informs about what kind of topics are permitted to be posted and discussed:
"Keep all conversations on-topic and related to Kung Fu Panda."
I've added this new line of text to that rule:
"No discussion on real-world topics that do not directly relate to Kung Fu Panda."
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
It means that any posts (threads and replies alike) talking about some kind of event happening in the real world are no longer permitted. This applies to ALL negative topics (such as tragedies or widespread events), as well as SOME positive topics (such as movements or selective holidays). These will both be left up to administrative discernment.
To clarify a little more: the new rule applies to topics that "do not directly relate to Kung Fu Panda." This means that if the basic topic itself has no connection whatsoever to Kung Fu Panda, then it cannot be posted about. There are some exceptions, hence why there will be administrative discernment.
Here's an example of this: the health condition or death of someone involved in helping to make Kung Fu Panda. Such a topic would obviously be considered "tragic," but because the person in question has a pre-existing connection to Kung Fu Panda, it would be considered "directly related to Kung Fu Panda." Therefore, this kind of topic would be allowed to post about.
WHY WAS THIS ADDED?
I felt this was necessary to add not just because it helps to keep everything on this wiki related to Kung Fu Panda, but also because some recent posts have been "sidestepping" around the existing rule by adding in a Kung Fu Panda topic to the real-world topic. It was non-malicious and unintended though, hence why there will be no action taken against the posters; however, the posts themselves will be removed.
It is NOT my intention to create even more limitations for wiki users on what and what not to post. That's not what I'm trying to do at all. Rather, I'm trying to help facilitate an environment where we Kung Fu Panda fans can congregate together and discuss some of our favorite topics with one another without worrying about outside topics that may make us feel alienated or otherwise uncomfortable.
TL;DR
From now on, please do not post threads or replies that talk about or refer to real-world topics UNLESS they are somehow directly related to Kung Fu Panda.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns about this, please leave them in this thread. Thanks!
Hi all! I have an awesome update regarding the Unified Community Platform (UCP).
As a reminder, the UCP is a new unified platform giving users the up-to-date MediaWiki experience including the latest features! More can be found here as a reminder.
In terms of new updates, Fandom staff posted three staff blogs:
Unified Community Platform: The Vision, Purpose, and Process - This update provides a clearer idea as to the end goals of the platform. This includes mobile editing, latest features, customization options - and more! Mobile editing will be an especially popular addition, given the rising number of mobile users across Fandom.
Creating new wikis on the Unified Community Platform - On March 11, Fandom will allow users to create new communities on the UCP! Users will be able to get a first look at the new platform. The wiki creation process will also aim to prevent duplicate wikis being created, allowing for users to contribute to active communities and be part of a Fandom project viewed by massive amounts of passionate fans!
Profile and Message Wall on the Unified Community Platform - Profiles are getting an update on the UCP, with a cleaner design and also more freedom for users to express themselves. More fields have been added and you can now add a banner image like you can on Twitter and other social media sites. Message Wall is also receiving a lift, getting a cleaner design more in line with Discussions to keep things consistent.
What do you think of these updates? Comment below and feel free to leave questions on those blog posts so staff can respond! :)
Hey guys!
I'm here to let you know that staff have exciting plans for the future of video on Fandom, including the future of what was Featured Video (FV) and what is replacing it.
A replacement for FV, titled The Loop, is set to be a mini-show that will be different for each vertical, highlighting the latest news from topics relating to that vertical. The best bit? These videos will use wiki articles and will encourage users to visit the wikis featured in the videos to find out more.
As a new episode of The Loop will be released weekly, you will see a wide variety of wikis of featured so there is every chance yours will be featured too!
Please see the latest staff blog for more details and feel free to ask me any questions!
Secondly, staff posted a blog about Fandom in 2019 and the amazing things achieved! Here's to a great 2020. :)
Hi guys!
Fandom staff posted two important and exciting blogs recently which I wanted to make you aware of!
Global taxonomy
The title sounds really fancy and complicated, but this boils down to Fandom recommending content you want to see. Fandom has received feedback from users who are receiving recommendations to visit certain wikis they are not interested in.
With this data driven approach, users on a wiki will receive recommendations for new communities to visit based on what typical readers of that subject are interested in. That way you can attract like-minded users to your community and you get to visit other wikis you are interested in!
Please do read the blog for more information. If you have any questions on this, please feel free to let me know!
Templates and scripting
This Best Practices blog talks about what a lot of users have questions about - templates and JavaScript.
A key message on the blog is not to do overdo the templates and JavaScript on a wiki as that can slow the wiki down and make the experience not so good for users.
The blog goes into how you can effectively use templates and JavaScript and ways you can make the user experience better. For example, it is really recommended communities use user-friendly parameter names for templates so new users can edit the wiki article and contribute to the wiki.
The blog is packed with details so please do give it a read! Also feel free to ask me any questions.
Thanks guys!
For everyone wanting to share their fan-made works, there's now a new category/filter you can use in the forums: "Fanon". This was done in hopes of sparking a little more activity in the forums, as well as having another place for KFP fans to connect to one another and express themselves without breaking wiki policy.
Wiki policy regarding fanon is still enforced and will not majorly change, but the difference now is that there's a new alternative to sharing it - one that will not have the potential to flood the wiki's image and video file databases, as the forums don't have its files directly uploaded to them.
There will be a couple of rules for the new category - just basic things like "PG rated only" and "only post your own material" and "link to your fan fiction, do not post the whole thing in the thread", etc. I'll have those posted up in the Guidelines soon.
---
Apart from the new category, I'd also like to briefly announce two other changes I made to the forum categories recently:
"Wiki Announcements" and "Wiki Consensus" have been merged into "Wiki Operations". This category will now be the main center of all wiki-related news and workings.
"Help Desk" and "Suggestions & Ideas" have also been merged into "Help & Suggestions". The category will continue to serve as a place where you can get help from the wiki community, as well as talk about your ideas for it.
---
If there are any questions or comments on these announcements, feel free to post them in this thread. Thanks!
