- The episode title is a reference to the phrase "pause for the cause", which is used to indicate the intentional stopping of an event or action due to the surprising nature of said event or action. It has also been used to indicate one taking a break to use the restroom.
- The scene when Po wanting to eat the radish but just talks to it is a reference to Kung Fu Panda 2 where Po has a dream getting beaten up by a radish and Po as a baby eating radishes in a radish box.
