The Ancients were ancient beings who inhabited the prehistoric supercontinent of Pangea, thus making them the ancestors of all living people. They were briefly featured in Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight.

Years before the main events of the franchise, the Ancients once lived peacefully in Pangaea, where they could control the elements. One day, however, a group of them decided to rule the world with an iron fist and destroy everyone in their way. So the Ancient Masters created the 4 Tianshang Weapons to trap the evil ones and the Ancient Undead Army forever, ultimately they won, but then the elements went out of balance causing the world to split apart. They realized their weapons were too powerful, so they hide it in places so no one will find them. the Wugao Gauntlet was left in the care of Wankun Village, the Whip of Endless Flame was hidden in the Lost City, the Helm of Winds was hidden in Polynesia and will be New England, the Storm Wheels were hidden in Central America).
