- This article is about the panda from Kung Fu Panda 3. For the Legends of Awesomeness character, see Bao (pig).
Bao is a young giant panda who resides in the secret panda village. He is a new character that will make his first appearance in the upcoming film, Kung Fu Panda 3. He will be voiced by Steele Gagnon.[1]
Biography
In Kung Fu Panda 3
It is presumed that Bao is one of several pandas that Po will meet when he and his father travel to the hidden panda hideout.[2]
Personality
There is currently little known about Bao's personality, though Po's voice actor Jack Black has commented about there being "cute baby pandas" in Kung Fu Panda 3: "Those guys are going to be the life of the party, for sure."[3]
Fighting style
Bao has been seen in an image making a kung fu pose with Po, though it is currently unknown if he will actually learn it.

Clothing
Bao wears a brown vest with carpet-like tufts, which appears similar to Li's vest. He also wears a green belt, gray pants, and a small red hat.
Trivia
- In Chinese, "bao" has several meanings, including "precious"[4] (traditional Chinese: 寶?; simplified Chinese: 宝; pinyin: bǎo), which is also the meaning of Po's name.
- Bao's name in the Chinese version of Kung Fu Panda 3 is "泡泡"[5] (pinyin: pàopào), which literally means "bubbles".[6]
