Diya was a great thief and a partner of Rukhmini of India. She gives Rukhmini a letter that she has the pendent. After her partner disappear Jayesh wants the half the city and clear their crew, then she sold it to Jayesh.

Rukhmini was Diya's partner in crime until she disappeared for 30 years, due to her being stuck inside the Lost City. This made Diya a bit upset but was unable to completely move on from Rukhmini and their precious moments. This can be seen when Diya grew visibly upset when Luthera ran away with the necklace that Diya had bought for Rukhmini 30 years ago. When Diya gave the necklace to Rukhmini and explained that she had bought it for her before she disappeared, they appear to look at each other in a bittersweet manner. Rukhmini was hurt when Diya sold her and the Dragon Knights team out to Jayesh and was sad for Padma when she heard of Jayesh's evil plan of taking over the town. Before leaving, she warned Diya but Diya informed her that she already knows. At the end of Padma's wedding, when Diya's plan is finally revealed, Rukhmini and Diya quickly patch up and Rukhmini promises to be back. As Pangea is forming and the earth is shaking, Rukhmini expresses concern for Diya and wishes to go back to her. Once Pangea is formed, Rukhmini and Diya get married and both wear their thali, or marriage necklaces, as a symbol of their love. Rukhmini has to leave Diya a second time to save the world from Alfie and Rukhmini and Diya shared a beautiful farewell and Diya thanks her for giving her such a beautiful last memory, to which Rukhmini remarks that she will be back, just like before.
