The Field of Fiery Death is an area of flame-spewing pipes that serves as one of the Training Hall's training mechanisms.

The Field of Fiery Death is a small area of the Training Hall intended to teach the value of balance and that an apparently safe surface could turn on you at any time. The pipes are fed by an underground fuel network.

A master is only as balanced as his or her stance—a teaching illustrated by this formidable training device. Fueled by fiery fury from below, it denies even the slightest of safe surfaces.

It is rumored that a long-forgotten master was inspired to create the device upon seeing the graceful gyrations of a leaf traversing a violent lava field. A separate myth of even deeper mystery suggests that it was instead created by an angry farmer trying to keep away salesmen.

Today, Master Viper uses these flames to hone her lightning reflexes and frightening flexibility.[1]

In Kung Fu Panda

Master Viper is shown using the Field to train, avoiding each pillar of flame easily thanks to her snake physiology. Po is not so lucky, and is scorched three times off-screen by the Field.
