The Four Constellations (also called simply the Constellations) are a quartet of powerful kung fu warriors featured in the Amazon Prime series Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny. The name applies to two different groups: the original four masters (Blue Dragon, Red Phoenix, White Tiger, and Black Tortoise), and the new masters who inherited the originals' Hero's Chi (Nu Hai, Bao, Jing, and Fan Tong).
1,000 years before the events of Paws of Destiny, the original Dragon Master (Jindiao) trains the original four constellations. After Jindiao's corrupted by his golden Chi, the constellations planned to trap him in the spirit urn that is supposed to be made by Bunnydharma. When they realized that the urn is not delivered to them, they sacrificed themselves and managed to separate Jindiao soul from his body.
A thousands years later, Nu Hai, Bao, Jing and Fan Tong absorbed the chi of the original four constellations after accidentally stumbling upon an ancient cave below the panda village. With Po as their master, the new constellations embarked on various adventures helping those in need and defending their home and all of China.
Fighting style and abilities
- The original Four Constellations are based off of the Four Symbols referenced in traditional Chinese astronomy. These symbols are described as four mythological creatures that each represent its own season and cardinal direction. They are prominent figures both culturally and religiously in China, as well as other Asian countries.
