The Great Masters were a group of four past kung fu masters that were seen in the Nickelodeon television series Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness. These masters appeared in a flashback in the episode "The Secret Museum of Kung Fu", in which Shifu explained their role in the history of the hidden museum.

In Legends of Awesomeness[]
Centuries before the events of "The Secret Museum of Kung Fu", the Great Masters have fled an unidentified Chinese city with kung fu weapons and artifacts, while a large force of evil pursued at a quicken pace. During the pursuit, the Masters were able to outrun the forces of evil for a small amount of time, in order to escape into the forest and construct the Secret Museum of Kung Fu to hide their weapons and artifacts of kung fu.
The structure was completed, allowing the Masters to place their artifacts into the rock and seal it. Though the artifacts were saved and well-hidden, the Great Masters were soon found once again by the forces of evil, and sadly perished not long after sealing the Secret Museum.
After the demise of the Great Masters, the Secret Museum was lost for centuries, only leaving behind a key revealing its existence.[1]
