Biography[]

In The Dragon Knight[]

Klaus is a dark mage alongside his older sister, Veruca. Back in England, he searched for Veruca for fifteen years before finding her in a prison and helping her escape.[2] After he found her, he told her that all the other mages were gone, and that their mission to find the four magical weapons was up to them now. Klaus' work as a mage includes using an elixir to heal, shown when he healed Colin's leg.[3]

Personality[]

Klaus is violent, irritable, and no-nonsense. He can however be clueless at times, and he does have a sense of humor. He seems to be the smarter of the two siblings and thus is the one who makes the plans and his plans seldom fail. He prefers to resolve things without violence but he is not above using violence and dirty tactics. Klaus has a caring and friendly side, shown when he happily reunited with Nigel, when he offered to heal Colin’s leg, and when he tried to prevent Veruca from causing the mages to starve to death and killing Kyle the arch-mage.

Fighting style and abilities[]

Klaus and Veruca Dumont are two dangerous peas in a pod, on a mission to steal the gauntlet and take over the kingdom. Swift on their feet, they're quick to throw daggers at their enemies![4]

Klaus is a fast runner and is skilled at swordplay and throwing daggers. He is able to heal others with an elixir. It's later revealed in season 3 that due to his connections with the Mages, he has magical powers to manipulate the wind.

Relationships[]

Veruca[]

Veruca is Klaus' older sister. He is sometimes annoyed with her excitability, and they sometimes get into small arguments. Klaus is at least somewhat loyal to her, having spent fifteen years looking for her, and being happy for her when her ability to harness the power of the moon returned. He also told her, when they were inside a falling ship, that he was happy they reunited.

In Season 2, however, Klaus expresses sadness about Veruca’s cold-hearted actions, such as killing Kyle the arch-mage, who wasn’t trying to kill her. Klaus tries to talk her out of doing these things. However, Veruca ignores this.

As Season 2 progresses, Klaus and Veruca's relationship continues to deteriorate as Veruca, obsessed with her revenge, begins to disregards her brother's feelings. In "The Mad Scientist", this even goes so far as she threatens to kill Klaus with the Wugao Gauntlet when he (reasonable, given the toxic volcanic smoke) tries to persuade her to call off the search for Po and Blade.

Klaus remains loyal to Veruca, although he grows angry that she threats him more like a slave, than her brother. Eventually, however, Veruca betrays Klaus for good in "Apok-ta-pokalyse Now Part 1" when she flees, leaving Klaus behind despite the danger that Blade might kill him. After Blade lets Klaus go, he is left alone, devastated and saddened by his sister's betrayal.

In Season 3, Klaus is revealed to have moved in with the other mages after Veruca left him. He senses Veruca’s death. While Po teaches Klaus how to find his power, Klaus takes them back to childhood memories with Veruca, and reveals that they lived on the streets of London as children and were pickpockets. He encounters Veruca’s ghost several times throughout the season, and she eventually helps Klaus use his wind power in order to save the world from Alfie’s takeover. Before the weapons are destroyed and all the ghosts, including Veruca’s, are set free, Veruca acknowledges that Klaus had looked after “this crazy weasel” their whole lives, and now it was her turn to look after him. They share an emotional embrace before her ghost and the other ghosts are set free. Klaus is seen posing with the Dragon Knights as Po refers to the Dragon Knights, implying Klaus now has status as a Dragon Knight.

Po[]

Po and Klaus were enemies, since Po is helping Wandering Blade in her hunt for him and Veruca. Klaus once tried to bite Po while he tied up him and Veruca.

Wandering Blade[]

Wandering Blade is Klaus' former main enemy, though Blade is more focused on Veruca, likely because she is actually the one who killed her brother, Sir Alfred.
