The game revolves around Po (Mick Wingert), a giant panda who dreams of becoming a great Kung Fu fighter. Unfortunately, his weight and clumsiness makes this ambition seemingly unattainable. However, he soon finds himself going on a journey to save the land from a no good snow leopard named Tai Lung. But also joining the fray are the forces of the Wu Sisters a snow leopard, the Great Gorilla a gorilla, the Blackhoof Boar Clan, a wild boar and the Imperial Golden Croc Gang an oriental alligator. Also the Furious Five are captured by various gangs, only to be saved by Po.
Po's Dream[]
A legendary Kung Fu warrior defends a village from bandits; in reality, it's just one of Po's daydreams.
Tournament of the Dragon Warrior[]
Locked of the tournament arena, Po's attempts to see the Furious Five see him fending off boar bandits, popping balloons with ballast bolts, and collecting fireworks to make a rocket chair. In the arena, Tigress skillfully defeats the mechanical Juggernaut... right before Po crashes into the arena and gains the title of the Dragon Warrior.
Level Zero[]
Po begins his training in the Training Hall, going through a series of timed courses meant to hone his basic skills. Three rooms are associated with Tigress (Chamber of Earth), Monkey (Chamber of Wind), and Viper (Chamber of Fire), who all challenge him to beat their records in each one. Reaching the end, Shifu says that he has a long way to go in proving himself as the Dragon Warrior.
Protect the Palace[]
An enraged Tai Lung escapes from Chorh-Gom Prison after hearing of the new Dragon Warrior; he sends Jade Palace messenger Zeng to the Palace to inform Shifu of his return and his plan to grab the Dragon Scroll. As he flies back, vultures attack; Crane saves him and carries Zeng the rest of the way.
Informed of Tai Lung's intentions, Shifu sends the Furious Five to protect the village. Po ducks out, but then has to protect the Jade Palace's treasure from the Black Hoof Boar Clan. Shifu arrives, sending Po and Crane to Lotus Lake to deal with the attacking Croc Gang. With word of Tai Lung's escape spreading, the two will also investigate.
Lake of Tears[]
Arriving at Lotus Lake, a local tortoise informs Po and Crane about the Croc Gang and their theft of tortoise eggs, asking the two to find them; while Crane flies overhead, Po searches the lake on foot. Collecting the eggs, Po has to deal with members of the Croc Gang. Evading their sergeant, Po and Crane meet with the tortoise, who thanks them for finding the hatchling eggs.
Wudang Temple[]
Shifu leads Po to the Wudang Temple - built in honor of Oogway's discovery of Kung Fu - and tasks him with collecting relics related to the ancient forms of Kung Fu. The two discover that the usually peaceful temples have been invaded by the Great Gorilla and his army; banished after Tai Lung's imprisonment, his escape prompted their return. Po and Shifu clear out the army and defeat the Great Gorilla; recognizing Tai Lung's approach, the two take relics with them and begin the trek back to the Jade Palace.
Treacherous Waters[]
As they continue their trek to the Jade Palace, Po and Shifu learn the Croc Gang have returned, taking the villagers of Pogota Island prisoner. Shifu takes the relics for safekeeping while tasking Po to save the villagers before rendezvousing at the Island. With the villagers freed, Po meets with Shifu; the latter has learned that the Furious Five have left to confront Tai Lung on their own. Riding down the river, Po and Shifu part ways: Po will continue to the Jade Palace while Shifu goes to rescue the Furious Five.
Wudang Rescue[]
Having defeated the Furious Five, Tai Lung stands triumphant as members of the Lang Shadow Army capture them. Shifu arrives and releases most of the wounded Furious Five; he defends an injured Tigress from Lang Shadow soldiers using fireworks. With all the Five retiring to the Jade Palace, Shifu clears out the rest of the local warriors before making his own way to the Jade Palace.
Howling Moon[]
A lost Po wanders the woods on his way to the Jade Palace, but seeing a nearby camp gives him hope about getting directions. When it's revealed that the camp belongs to the Wu Sisters, bandits and among the many allies of Tai Lung, Po clears the area out, defeats the Wu Sisters, and finds a map that could help him get back to the Jade Palace.
Secret of the Sands[]
Now in the Wastelands, Po collapses out of exhaustion; with him being no closer to the Jade Palace, the journey feels hopeless. Suddenly, a vision of Oogway appears, advising Po to use his hunger ("follow the cookies") as motivation. He then points out a nearby facility, prompting Po to investigate. Activating the Moonstones on the four towers causes the arena to open up; Tai Lung suddenly appears - angered that someone is messing with his training grounds - and forces Po to fall into the arena. Fighting off local bandits, he unlocks a trapdoor revealing maps: including one to the Valley of Peace and a dummy to practice the Wuxi Finger Hold - the true reason Oogway guided him here. With the map he found, Po returns to the Jade Palace.
The Palace[]
With the Furious Five defeated and Tai Lung's arrival to the Valley of Peace imminent, Shifu gives the Dragon Scroll to Po - only to discover that the Scroll is blank. Shifu sends Po away with the Scroll in hopes of luring Tai Lung away from the village below; he plans to face Tai Lung alone.
As expected, Tai Lung comes to the Jade Palace and, when he sees that the Dragon Scroll is missing, sends his various minions to search for it. Shifu manages to defeat them before facing Tai Lung directly. The battle tears through the Palace, with Shifu successfully delaying Tai Lung. When Tai Lung again asks for the Dragon Scroll, Shifu states that it is with the real Dragon Warrior.
The Warrior's Destiny[]
The village is under siege by multiple groups of raiders, all taking advantage of the current situation; it's now that Mr. Ping tells his son about the secret ingredient of his secret ingredient soup - nothing. What makes the dish special is people's belief in it. This makes Po realize that the message of the Dragon Scroll is to believe in himself as the Dragon Warrior. Before he can go help Shifu at the Jade Palace, Po has to rescue his father from bandits, Along the way, he briefly partners with Monkey to help clear the village of raiders and clear a way to the Jade Palace.
The Final Battle[]
Po arrives just as Tai Lung stands over a defeated Shifu. When Po reveals that he has the Dragon Scroll, Tai Lung lunges for him. Their fight spans across the village, with Tai Lung and his wolf army seeking to grab the Dragon Scroll from Po, eventually ending up in the Palace Arena. Po eventually overpowers and defeats Tai Lung using the Wuxi Finger Hold. With the village saved, Shifu at peace, and the Five fully accepting of him, Po embraces his role as the Dragon Warrior.
Gameplay[]
Kung Fu Panda: The Game intended mainly for children and is based on the movie Kung Fu Panda. Players initially control Po, who differs from the movie in that he possesses a basic level of martial arts skill from the beginning, enabling him to participate in battle. In addition to fighting and jumping challenges, maintaining balance is another important element of the game, such as Po crossing tightropes, staying on moving platforms and using it to steer a boat through a dangerous river. Over the course of the game's narrative, the player improves Po's skill by adding various new fighting techniques and special moves, although in some parts of the game, the player will have to complete the tasks as another character.
After collecting a number of coins at the end of each level, the player has the option to buy upgrades to Po's moves and health, as well as a different set of new outfits. Eventually, as the player progresses through the game, they'll be able to unlock other characters, including Master Shifu and the members of the Furious Five (a team of elite fighters each with their own fighting styles and mini-games). In addition, the player will be able to use objects and weapons when fighting. Furthermore, before each new level, Po narrates the continuing story, while the words are being scrolled up on the screen.
In the Wii version, the Wii Remote is used to perform moves and skills, such as the Wuxi Finger Hold; in the PS3 version, the motion sensors of the Sixaxis controller can be used to control Crane in missions, where players play as him, while in the Nintendo DS version, while the D-pad moves Po, the touch screen is mainly used for combat moves, in the style of the DS version of Spider-Man 3, which was also developed by Vicarious Visions.[3]
