Master Boar is a character who was originally going to be a member of the Kung Fu Council in Kung Fu Panda 2, but was scrapped before production. He instead made a cameo appearance in the film as well as a featured appearance as a bandit in Kung Fu Panda Holiday.[2]
Biography
In Kung Fu Panda Holiday
A band of boar bandits greatly resembling Master Boar's design invaded the Valley of Peace, but were easily defeated by Po and the Furious Five. Notably, the remaining boar was tossed around by the warriors before Po knocked him out by sitting on his neck.
In Kung Fu Panda 2
When Storming Ox declared that Kung Fu was dead, an outraged Po delivered a rousing speech that he would stop Shen and prove that "Kung Fu still lives." In another cell, Boar responded with a sarcastic cheer.
Trivia
- Modeling supervisor Jason Turner explained how Master Boar was a handful to animate because "his fat gets in the way when he has to lean or look down, not unlike the challenges we faced with Po."[2]
