Monkey's mother is a minor character in the Nickelodeon television series Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness. She is the mother of Monkey and Wu Kong. Her real name was never specified. She made a brief appearance in a flashback sequence in the episode "Monkey in the Middle".

Her sons Monkey and Wu Kong were pranksters in the Valley of Peace, in which they caused petty mischief such as jokes and gags on the villagers. As shown in a flashback, they sometimes played small pranks on their mother, but with good natured intentions. However, Wu Kong soon began to take the art too far, where he began thieving. When Wu Kong was eventually caught and sent to prison, his mother and Monkey were left saddened and shamed.

Wu Kong eventually escaped and snuck into his mother's room while she was sleeping. Monkey caught his brother in the middle of stealing a bag of money and a fierce battle ensued. Their violent fighting woke their mother, whose heart broke upon seeing what was happening. She collapsed, distracting Monkey and enabling Wu Kong to escape. Before dying, she made Monkey vow to protect the family and its namesake. She passed away shortly afterward, and Monkey was the only family member to attend her funeral.
When Wu Kong returned to rob the Valley of Peace years later, Monkey kept his promise to his mother, taking the blame for Wu Kong's thievery and even fighting Po to keep him from harming his brother. However, when Wu Kong knocked Po unconscious and attempted to frame him instead, Monkey realized that doing the right thing was more important.
