The Panda Guardians are a group of giant pandas introduced in Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny.

The Ancient Masters chose the ancient pandas to serve as guardians of the Wellspring, the source of all chi in the universe. Wielding the power of chi, they defended Wellspring from evil forces. However, when the corrupt Dragon Master Jindiao sought to claim the Wellspring for himself, the original Four Constellations took it upon themselves to stop him. To this end, they sealed the Wellspring away within a Peach Statue to insure that it would remain under the watch of the pandas. However, cut off from the Wellspring and its power, the pandas eventually lost their abilities and forgot their ancient role.
