About this template

This template is intended to be used by contributors of the Kung Fu Panda Wiki who wish to add a dialogue quote to an article—a quote involving more than one speaker.

Usage

Steps

For exactly two lines of dialogue:

  1. Copy and paste the template code "Exactly two lines of dialogue" in the desired spot.
    1. If there's already another quote or dialogue there, place your new one at least 2 spaces apart.
  2. Fill in the specifications.

For more than two lines of dialogue:

  1. Copy and paste the template code "More than two lines of dialogue" in the desired spot.
    1. If there's already another quote or dialogue there, place your new one at least 2 spaces apart.
  2. Fill in the needed specifications.
  3. Remove any unused lines

Specifications

  • Action A - Any action occurring before the dialogue, either by Speaker A or in the scene itself; this parameter is optional.
  • Speaker A - The name of the first speaker; if you would like to link this, put [[brackets]] around it.
  • Quote A - The text quoted by Speaker A; don't worry about putting quotation marks over it - that's done automatically.
  • Action B-Z - (same as above)
  • Speaker B - The name of the second speaker (usually in response to Speaker A); if you would like to link this, put [[brackets]] around it.
  • Quote B - The text quoted by Speaker B; don't worry about putting quotation marks over it - that's done automatically.
  • Speaker C-Z - (same as above)
  • Quote C-Z - (same as above)
  • Description - Short description of what's being discussed in the quoted dialogue; please be as brief as you can on these - it isn't very aesthetically pleasing if this is too long.
  • Source - What media the dialogue was quoted from (movie, short, TV episode, game, book, etc.); the template automatically turns it into an italicized link.

Other notes

On the template:

  • This template is only meant for MORE THAN ONE speaker; if the quote you want to add involves just one speaker, then you need to use the {{Quote}} template.
  • This template offers a total of 26 lines of dialogue.

On its usage:

  • Be sure to format it correctly or it might not work or look the way you want it to.
  • Place multiple quotes at least two spaces apart. This is to make it easier to read.
  • Unlike a regular conversation, there has to be a new line with a new letter if there's more than two lines of dialogue - even if it's the same speaker speaking as A and B.
