The Tianshang Guardian views Rukhmini as his mother. This can be seen in Season 3, Episode 17, where he refers to her as "Mama" and obeys her when she tells him to move away, as he was blocking the trade path of the villagers. He was also aggressive with the Dragon Knights, until he recognised Rukhmini and pointed at her, as if he recognises her, and became calm, which allowed Po and his pals to enter the lost city in search of the Ancient Masters.
