The tortoise shell restraint was a tortoise-shell-shaped locking device created by Oogway to contain Tai Lung after his attack on the Valley of Peace. It was worn by the snow leopard during his twenty years of incarceration in Chorh-Gom Prison, and later destroyed during his escape in Kung Fu Panda.
Description[]
The device appeared to be made of a tortoise shell and contained several acupuncture needles with decorative dragon-headed pins held on the back. With the restraint worn like a jacket, these needles could target areas of the body, blocking the chi of whoever wore it and immobilizing them. In the center of the shell was a zig-zag-shaped lock, which kept the needles in place and the shell itself whole.
